A little while ago, I decided it was time I purchased a cool camera, with which to take brilliant photographs.

I thought it would be simply a case of going to local “techi” shop, purchase a camera which had a big optical zoom and a high mega-pixel count and then I would be set…

Turns out, things are a lot more complicated! Looking to the web, I noticed there are thousands of web sites aimed at sharing photographs, just as many blogs and sites advising DSLR (you know, those really big cameras that you see people lugging around zoos and such places) users on what lens to purchase, thousands of sites comparing technical titbits about different  cameras; but almost nothing for the average person who wants to take good photographs without spending an arm or a leg and then still having to lug around oodles of camera gear.

Thus, I have been inspired to start this blog about compact cameras (the small, single lens digital cameras).

Really, this blog is about sharing, sharing my camera experiences and hopefully you sharing yours; so that in time we develop a community that will help the little camera user get the most out of their Compact Camera.
